Disabled Access Audits
The requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (as amended by the Disability and Equality Act 2010) are far-reaching and apply to any owner or duty holder within a property so as to reasonably afford access into and within the building. This often requires a coordinated assessment of the use of the building, the services provided within it and the physical space together with obstacles encountered both on approach to and circulation within the premises.
Having assessed your requirements, we then seek to design effective and economical solutions to not only providing wheelchair access, but also ensure adaptation of reception counters, doorways and circulation routes, stairs and WC accommodation. We will also consider colour schemes, lighting and other aspects to provide you with an accessibility scheme that is both reasonable and achievable providing you with drawings, necessary permissions and helping with selection of contractors and management of the works.
Our experience spans across all sectors including commercial, healthcare and educational buildings.
