Relocation, relocation, relocation…
How to move three sites into one.
Rowley Szilagy are delighted to have overseen the relocation of the British Red Cross offices from three sites across Leicestershire into one newly refurbished office facility at Bridge Park Plaza, Thurmaston.
After initial departmental consultation, a space planning and feasibility study was undertaken to ensure that each team not only had the correct desk quota, but also ready access to centralised storage, meeting and welfare facilities. Careful consideration of customer waiting and consultation areas was made to ensure accessibility.
Turning to due diligence, the mechanical and electrical services were tested then re-designed to introduce fresh air and energy efficient heating. A full building inspection and schedule of condition allowed the client to limit their in-going repairing liabilities and negotiate a series of pre-lease repairs.
Our in-house drawing office then produced the fit-out plans and schedules of work for competitive tendering and Building Regulations approval together with landlord's consent via a Licence to Alter (under the Alterations Protocol).
Having tendered the works, we then fulfilled the Contract Administrator and Principal Designer (under CDM 2015) roles to see the project through to completion in time for the teams to take up occupation in line with the relocation strategy.
